Saturday, August 17, 2024 All BPS Employees of West Sumba Regency Attended the Ceremony to Commemorate the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence at the Manda Elu Waikabubak Field, West Sumba Regency. The ceremony was attended by the Regent and Deputy Regent of West Sumba, DPRD Members, Regional Apparatus Leaders within the West Sumba Regency Government, Vertical Agency Leaders, TNI, Polri, Students, Elementary School/MI, Junior High School/MTs, Senior High School/Vocational High School Students and Other Invited Guests.
The Commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia carries the theme "New Archipelago, Advanced Indonesia" and the sub-theme With the spirit of the Commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
In his speech, the Regent of West Sumba said that there are still many challenges that must be fought in filling the current independence, as quoted by Ir. Soekarno "Your struggle will be harder when fighting your own people". The realization of a great nation will be difficult when it becomes an instant nation, it will make people lazy to fight, lazy to learn which will make the nation depressed, for that we must fight to fight our own laziness. However, with the spirit of unity, all these challenges will be overcome.
